The significance of Mahashivratri Festival is great for the inner spiritual awakening, devotion and meditation.
Shiva songs (songs in praise of Lord Shiva), Shiva Mantras are chanted all night long with devotion and awareness. This particular night is spiritually very active and one's chit (consciousness) easily gets filled with the blissful divine energy.
