Shiva Panchakshari Stotra - Mantra - Meaning

This online video is part of Shiva songs.

This is a very good video with the chanting of Shiva Panchakshari (five lettered) Mantra Strotram. The strotram has been composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Panchakshari mantra means mantra made by 5 syllables or letters from Sanskrit Language. The five letters are १। Na न २.Mha मः ३। Shi शि Va वा Ya य।

It makes नमः शिवाय

Aum ॐ is called moola mantra meaning root of the mantra from where all other mantras evolve. Often the moola mantra or root mantra is chanted as Aum Namha Shivay (लिस्ट ऑफ़ अल). Aum being the complete Mantra the basic sound of Universe . विडोस ऑफ़ लोर्ड शिव letter . The scientists working on the subtleties of material world have discovered that more they go deeper into the material what we think and feel as gross is not so. The table or chair or a stone we see seems to be so gross. Yet going deeper everything is constantly moving inside. The atoms nuclear are constantly in a flow.

Moreover at a point the behavior is simultaneous of a sound wave and that of energy. Yogis and spiritual seekers works on the subtleties of the self, and discovered a universal sound Aum. At that level they say there is nothing but the sound Aum. Similarity in sounds are found of Amen in Christianity and Amin in Islam. Because the sound cannot be pronounced but have to be felt and herd. When one reaches that level the divine experience of SatChitAnand (consciousness of divine ecstasy). There are many meanings attributed to the word Aum but more important is the experiencing. A post on meaning of Mantras has already been written on Sai Baba blog.
