some interesting and educating comments from Shiva Bhaktas on you tube

* It is said that recitation of this mantra creates vibration that pulsates through every cell, every molecule of human body and tears away the veil of ignorance. Hindus believe that recitation of the mantra ignites a fire within that consumes all negativity and purifies entire system. It is also said to have a strong healing power and can cure diseases declared incurable even by the doctors.
- So True!!!

* Very auspicious, spiritual and eternally enlightening.
Thanks

Om Shanti

* pranaam!
i have a request....

can u please post shiv abhishek mantra i'm confused whether iam chanting it right or not.
shri samva sada shivaay namah, vilmine cha namah, kavachine cha namah, shrutaay shrutii sainyaye mayaskaraaye cha namah, satya santu mam kamam shiv arpanam astu jay jay....
please guide ..

* Wikki: "An influx of early Indo-Aryan speakers together with Late Harappan cultures gave rise to the Vedic civilization. This civilization is marked by a continual shift to the east" Linguists can trace the development of Sanskrit. We can accept a little reason mixed in with the claim of "revelation". Why is there such a bias in Indian culture towards light skin? Because they were, invaded by light skinned hordes and power was identified with the race which had it.

* Thanks for posting this mantra this mantra gives me more spiritual streng and power.
JAI SHIVSHANKAR KI

* Excellent! I listen to this everyday...It is so great! Thank you for posting this! God bless you! Om Namah Shivaya!

* Anyone can do it....God is not restricted to a "type of people". In the days of KaliYug, chanting alone will help humans attain salvation

* Jay Sambhoo!!! Bhole Baba !!!

* त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् Om Tryambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Maamrtat

* happy mahasivaratri! om namah sivay

* If you recite it, you listen more closely. Plus, saying it uses more brain pathways and produces the sound vibrations more strongly within. Best to both say it and, at the same time, listen deeply. Eventually, more quietly, then let it repeat mentally until it stops and you are in meditation. If the mind starts thinking again, return to the mantra.

* Today is Shiva's festival , listen to this excellent chanting really do me good , thanks you

* Yes, you can attain various siddhas chanting mantras for thousands of times

* Excellent rendition.

* jai kara bajrangi
her her mahadev

* om namah shivaye

* Shankar Sawney.
sings it on a cd to play at home nightly.
Recipie for healing anything: sleep with feetto north and head to south away from not facing any doors. Put waterinmetal container under yourbedbyheadside.Give it toalargetree askit totake yourbad energies. No meats or eggs40 days. LOVE LIGHT TO ALL

* Mahamritunjaya Mantra frees the devotee from the fear of death, grave dangers, fatal diseases and makes him courageous and healthy.

We worship the Three-eyed One (Lord Siva).
Who is fragrant and who nourishes well all beings.
May He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality,
Even as the cucumber is severed from bondage to the creeper.i.e. By your Grace, Let me be in the state of salvation (Moksha) and be saved from the clutches of fearful death.

* my favorite of all mantras

* what a wonderful music. so calming. thanks for this great vid!

* This mantra will heal anyone ill, or depressed and bust bad karma lift spirit. It has many vertions there is a song that lasts one hour I have the link if anyone wants it It is breathtaking! Ahindusinger sings it! amazing. Money Sigh gave it to me for healing.

* Very nice song..Jai Mrityunjaya bhagwan

* hey this mantra should be only be chanted if your fluent in Sanskrit language all the pronunciations should be exact and correct specially while chanted in order to save someones life this chant is only to be used in order to save person fighting from death due to unfortunate event like accident or sumthing i would still suggest it 2 be chanted only by priests who specialize in this please do not try if cannot pronounce it properly.

* Im glad this video was posted here, because if it wasnt someone simple minded and ignorant like myself wouldnt be able to benefit from it the way that i have.

* Its simply wonderful ! Thank you so much for posting the video !

* Nataraj = Lord of the Dance
His dance = symbol of creation

* Brilliant video!!

PLease, could any of you tell me the name or genre of the dance performed by Lord Shiva within the whole chanting video?

IS that dance related to Nataraj?

Thanks!

* Thankyou very much for this mantra, it has helped me very much.
Bless you.

* Excellent video. U feel like being in kailasa. Let Lord Siva bless everyone who watch this video and whoever posted this.

* Excellent video.However placing this in youtube i donot agree.

* Free translation:
"O Omniscient Divinity, we adore you.
O Lord full of excellent fragrance, you are the nourisher, the sustainer of all life.
As the cucumber is freed from the stem, thus liberate us from death and grant us the nectar of Immortality."

* Some1 asked what this mantra means -.- so there is the translation :) We adore the fragrant three-eyed one who promotes prosperity. May we be freed from the bondage of death as a cucumber from its stalk, but not from immortality.

* nine (9) figure is considered as a auspicious figure in our hindus. Like one mala is 108 total 9. 1008 is considered as siddh the total is 9. since you tube has limitation of time and capacity, it was best to make it nine times.

* Have recently started meditation and find this a direct contact to the Universal Mind. It is incredible.

Lubna

* Aum! Shanti Shanti Shanthi!!! Aum Namah Shivaya!

* creates serenity and tranquility around you...wonderful!!

* Is there a CD of this mantra sung in this way that I can buy?

* excellent combination of a wicked beat and some cool anime. Om namah Shivayah!

Kedarnath - Temple - Picture - Jyotirling - trek

First online video titled as Kedarnath has some beautiful images of the Himalayan mountain range video shoot from Kedarnath.

switzerland of india *isn't it beautiful*

Below is the video clip of Kedarnath Temple from outside

Below are two video clips showing the beautiful view around Kedarnath Temple

Below is a video clip showing some accommodation places for yatris doing Kedarnath yatra or pilgrimage

Below is the video clip showing a bike ride on the way to Kedarnath, the roads in Himalayan ghats

below two video clips titled Kedar trek Part 1 and two, the description given by one who uploaded the videos : Kedarnath is 14 km from Gaurikund in Uttaranchal, India. The sacred temple of Kedarnath make a huge number of pilgrims trudge their way on foot, mule, kandi ( basket ) and Palki ( palnquin ). The first leg of trek is 7 km from Gaurikund to Ramwada. The river Mandakini, the alpine grandeur, the cascading waterfall make it a memorable journey

This video was shot while on second leg of trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, in the State of Uttaranchal, India. This was my third trek in this region. Never seen so much snow enroute in my earlier treks. The landscape between Ramwada and Kedarnath is breath taking. The meandering river Mandakini flowing through the crevices of melting snow add a spectacular sight with the back drop of Himalayas. Feel like going there again and again!

* Very-very nice, thank you very much!

* beautiful!!!!
OM NAMAH SHIVAH!
JAIJAIJAI SIVA!
JAIJAIJAI GOURI PARVATI UMA DEVI MAA!!!!

* Beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for posting this. AUM Namah Shivaya.

* With your permission , I would like to make a comment.
1) All hindu vedic chants have symbolic meaning be it for Lord Shiva or Lord Narayana or their various forms or Lord Ganesh.
2) They strike the human brain when chanted with perfect pronounciations.
3) They are known in vedas to produce theta, beta, alpha and gamma waves.
4) these waves are the basis for human thinking. they are known to be active and have been proven scientifically to be active in every human. The basis is EEG recording

Replies : Thank you for your explanation!
How are these 'phonemas' in vedic 'language' so good to listen.
Heder Garcia.
São Paulo-sp-Brasil.

NAMASTE!
The explaination given by me was insufficient. I wanted to talk a lot but due to lack of space. Anyways being a scientist and a biomedical engineer I have always tried to explore this field. whatever i said has been proven clinically.
My advice to the interested reader is to read articles about influcences of vedic chants in Journal of Neuroscience , also Brain. Similar journals can be referred. Also brain neuronal activity rises (mri and fmri images confirm) that when hearing chants.

Namaste, I assume you are a westerner? If so, your interest in Vedanta and Hindu culture is appreciated. What people need to do is to educate the world at large about the depth of the Vedas instead of brushing them off as mere 'mythology' and/or superstition. Idiots like Michael Witzel, who is considered a scholar, constantly denigrate Hindu culture and the historicity of Aryavarta.
Anyway, modern physics closely describes the nature of this universe much like the Vedas/Upanishads did eons ago.

* this is really excellent i hv ever heard,om nanah shivaya,god bless you,om shanti,navah garah shanti.

* "!!Aum Namah Shivaye!!"

* Dear Kurrijhaj, I am a Hindu.. ! This is a recital praising the Lord Shiva. This comes out right from Sanskrit Language and I myself dont understand all of it. Like most Hindu chants it is about praising the Lord shiva for his great powers ! Also, most Hindu vedic chants are like this and last for few hours with such clarity and stress of words and sounds which are really wonderful.

Hope you have anice time and good day !

-Ramesh, Berlin - Germany

HARE KRISHNA-HARE RAMA

Hare Rama Hare Krishna sung with heart and devotion, the devotion shows in the pleasing voice and the divine effect of the MahaMantra it leaves on the mind after listening to it.

It's a Video Cam Direct Upload by chiniwillly.

More lord Krishna Bhajans and songs for Janmashtami

Some positive remarks on the you tube for this video will tell something more

* Beautiful..Hare Krishna

* Hare Krsna Mataji
I admire your attitude toward Vaishnavism, as it is not just a hobby it is a way of life. I recently discovered my true self when being intorduced to Vaishnavism, I find it inspiring to know that different races like the whites are embracing Vaishnavism while some indians are converting and throwing away our dharma.............. Please forgive me if i have said somthing wrong, or somthing to offend anyone for that was not at all my intention.
Jai Shri Krsna

* lovely. Great voice.

* not at all.... no offense at all! My parents joined in ISKCON so you are not far off. Also ISKCON members also are vaishnavas, (but with some differences to my group) being a vaishnava in a simple description would be: to dedicate life to loving God,(Krsna) one of the main ways to connect to Him is thru chanting His names.

* Haha I actually did a little poking around (watching your sister's stuff too, very entertaining & educational!) & found it kinda confusing because it looked like a pic of Prabuphada in her Prasadarian vid.

* Anyway, I think it positive & refreshing to see some women my age (I'm 27) leading spiritually-centered lives. I also really like you & your sister's videos because you're showing that white hindus aren't total cult members, which, unfortunately is how they're generally perceived.

*
Wow that was pretty good. If I couldn't see your face I'd think you were Indian! :)

* Beautiful... Very gentle and loving :)

* I think that the fact that you don't sing completely in tune all the time, makes it so much better. It makes the listening much more interesting and the feeling much stronger. I love the folk-"ish" authenticity of your voice. You are not making polished pop out of a spiritual mantra... Thank you!

* You're welcome! You just really seem to have a sense for that Eastern/Indian rhythm and intonation. I'm curious, are you a member of iskcon or is this just a hobby or what?

reply : Well, I was born into Vaishnavism.. I am not really with ISKCON. It is not a hobby, it's my life :-)

* Hi Chini, Thank you for posting, i listen to this tune evryday while working. Thanks

* Hare Krsna..very melodious and divine..God Blees on the Path..

* thats beautiful

* yeah i like that tune :-)

* omg! that is such beautiful singing!

* wow, that was superb! God bless you!

Om Mani Padme Hum - The Jewel in the Lotus

some good elevating and informative comments from you tube

The mantra doesn't have a truly translatable meaning. The purpose of saying it is to think about each word and create a path to enlightenment.

As His Holiness, the Dalai Lama states:

* "...The six syllables, om mani padme hum, mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha[...]"

Namaste! :-)

* It Is Beautiful. Thank You for Sharing It. I Love it.

* although I am not of the same belief, this melody by deva and miten is very relaxing and peaceful in a world of stress and turmoil.

* Om mani padme Hum
May all being be awaken to compassion, experience peace and joy.

* This is relaks. ;)

* OM MANI PADME HUM. THE MYSTIC LAW IS THE LOTUS SUTRA. This is the true interpretation. The most powerful of mantras, written on tibetan prayer flags and hung out in the wind, whatever beings are touched by the wind that has passed across the mantra are highly blessed and will attain enlightenment. It is said that the whole Lotus Sutra is in this one mantra.

* he was born in nepal but lived in India

* ..and Tibet.

* i had my tattoo done 2weeks ago, i love it, not in an ego'look at me im special' kind of way, i love it because its special to me, and makes me feel connected to more than m physcial body.

* I'm getting the text tattoo'd on my forearm this weekend! Can't wait.

* This is just beautiful. Gives me a lot of different emotions each time I listen to it. More than a song.

* 1.)OM MANI PAD ME HUM
2.)Heart Sutra
3.)MANJUSHRI mantra

By praying these prayers in accordance to the numbering, one would be able to cleanse one's karmic debts. fully understand first the prayer before adding the next. until you understand all. Please click my account for the Manjushri mantra.

* this is so beautiful , so relaxing and with beautiful menaing , does anyone know who chants this song and the name ?

* I think that one (padme hum)is the "original" Sanskrit and the other (peme hung)is the Tibetan version. Both are correct, but it is all about the correct pronunciation.

* hm..
well.. you spell it
"Om mani padme hum", thats right.. but you pronounce it in 6 syllables.. "Om ma ni pe me hung" its "pe" not "pa" and "hung" not "hum"..

* That's right - the main aim is to create the correct resonances within the words

* very beautiful!!! :-) excelente great song
go buddism....go nepal...

* this is so beautiful , so relaxing and with beautiful menaing , does anyone know who chants this song and the name ?

* Deva Premal ;-)))

* Thank you, this is a beautiful representation of a very important mantra....I couldn't help but sing along - and it helped to clear my spirit. Thank you again.

* Roughly

"Hail to the jewel in the lotus"

* beautifully sung..dont think it can can get better than this..it touched my soul instantly..absolute joy to listen to it..

* This is so soothing... thanx for posting... This is wonderful!

* Om Mani Padme Hum: Hail and Salutations to the Most Precious Jewel within the Lotus: The Peerless Lord of Compassion and Lovingkindness: The Lord Buddha

* "om shanti om" used to be my mantra but then they came out with a movie and now i cant concentrate any more lol

* Om mane padme hum...wonderful vid.

* Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.

* I already practiced the chenrezig mantra about 15,000 times, and it does such wonderful things for my heart. It taught me how to be very open with people and communicate deeply. It's a deceptively simple mantra, it will change your life if you take it up every day for a month or so.

* It's great that you find it helpful. Remember, the path that the Buddha taught is about MINDFULNESS! So be careful not to get stuck on auto pilot. The intention is to mindfully repeat the mantras focusing our minds and deepening our connections.

Stick with it! It's done wonders for many of us!

Peace, Love, Light, and Truth!

* Beautiful, thank you!

* Thank you! This was beautiful.

* Thankyou very much for this video and song.
It is what I have been trying to find since I lost my little radio of pre-recorded prayer version of Om Mani Padme Hum. This is the best soothing voice I have come across so far.
Thankyou once again, eaglebros :~)

* one is suppose to visualise that all beings on earth is the jewel .. that is their real essence is buddha.. and hence this mantra generates compassion towards all being. it is also said that if you chant this mantra a specific number of times it will open your third eye. it is also the simplest of mantra and has all the essence of buddha 's teaching

* I agree with solotr that the intent of spirit who chants this mantra is more important than "padme" or "peme". Effective mantra chanting is to chant mindfully with sincerity and out from the bottom of our heart. In addition, understanding the meaning that this mantra carries is also very important. The mantra serves as a tool to calm our mind. It is not an end itself. Attachment is dukkha.

* The whole thing about pronunciation is so controversial. I know a buddhist master called Sogyal Rinpoche who keeps saying that the way mantras are pronounced is very important and now some people tell me the real pronunciation of "padme" is "padme" and not "peme".

BhakitPat, do you have any sources, or do you know from experience?

solotr: I agree with you on the fact that the intend of spirit counts more than pronunciation, it's just that most buddhist masters don't seem to agree with us.

* Heretic, I turned up my speakers and they really are saying it correctly padme. It sounds as if the 'd' isn't there when the speakers are low. Beautiful either way..the intent of spirit counts more than pronunciation. Namaste

* While I appreciate the nuance of Tibetan pronunciation that you have skillfully pointed out, it should be noted that the correct Sanskrit pronunciation is Padme and Peme is the best that Tibetans can do to imitate that sound. Peace.

Om Mani Padme Hum - Tibetan Buddhist Chanting

Sanskrit: "Om Mani Padma Hum" (mantra of Avalokiteshvara)

Tibetan: "Om Mani Peme Hung" (mantra of Chenrezig)

Some you tube comments

*
I have met this extraordinary Tibetan Lama. He is an amazing teacher, full of compassion and wisdom.

* Thank you for sharing this.

* I love to play this every time I want to be inspire.
You can sense this man compassion and kindness.
Om mani padme hum

* what smile
totally at peace with the world
i want to be as peacefull as this too

* I saw this monk in St. Petersburg, Florida when me and a friend were visiting a museum. He was in charge of a Sand Mandala there. Really cool that I saw him on here!!

* The "ung" sound in most Asian languages is said with the mouth closed. So, "hung" sounds to many people like "hum."

* It means, literally, "God is the jewel at the center of the lotus".

thank you for that video and for everyone who explained the meaning of that mantra. I brought only one cd with that mantra from India and always then I am drawing mandala's I listen that mantra... I felt just only by intuition that words touch me deeply. very deep meaning and true, that Everything we need is already in us :)

* It makes me feel emotional

* His smile at the end was awesome! He is so great.

* Yeah really cute xD

* The monk's smile at the end is great ^_^

* Compassion

* Fabulous kindness and love.
Love
Love
Light

* That's great! It's a great song. I actually have it playing all day in my classroom, almost inaudible, the whole day. My kids love it! I teach in Taiwan. It's always a great reminder to me of how to live life:)

* since the chant removes all negativity

* You mean if I sense some evil spirits near me. I can chant Om Mani Padme Hum repeatedly and to protect me from them?

* The sacred chant itself not just protecting you alone, it will creats great merits to yourself and others, include the evil spirits near you. The word 'OM' itself is so powerful, in which some Buddhists text noted that ghosts & spirits must put their hands together(like the way when we pray) when they hear it. The sacred chant generates more benefits if you chant with your compassion and repentence.

* I can't get enough of this guys smile!!!!!

* "Om Mani Padme Hum" is the sansrkit, the closest to the original Indian chant. "Om Mani Peme Hung" is the nearest Tibetan phonetic translation; the Tibetans can't pronounce the original well in their dialect. Both are cool! Chant it from your heart, that's all that's needed! You ARE the Buddha nature!

* thank you very mutch ^^, i like to sing it while i'm cooking or doing housework, but chanting seems easier while meditating ^^.

* i've git a question, maybe someone can help me. is it important to say om mani padme hum in a peculiar way? i mean, this monk is singing it more than chanting, with a melody i found in other videos too. does the effect of the mantra change by singing or chanting it?? thank you for your help

* He looked at the Buddhist in amazement and said, "You've obviously got it right the way you're saying it!" But the hermit asked him again how to say it perfectly right so he could get started on the "right" way to repeat it!

* Wow! He looks so at peace. What a wonderful post. I want this to be my ringtone! -Kirk

* What can Om Mani Padme Hum do? Can it used to protect you from evil spirits?

* Om mani padme hum means the jewel in the lotus.

* OM MANI PEME HUNG is the Tibetian pronounce.

* actually, representations of deities in sexual union are not really explained like some concept of yin and yang.. its is what they call the union of wisdom and compassion. Together they become the middle way, not living in Nirvana (wisdom takes you there) or Samsara. But hey, you could be right, I'm no scholar :D

* How fortunate are we to have this available to us in our homes. Thank you for this video. May we all be at peace.

* Magnifico grande filingue adorei :)
Namaste

* His smile is infectious!! Thanks.

* More teachings and chants...PLEASE
D friend T

* tibetan name is "mani korlo"

* In some Tantric lineages, it can be thought of as referring to sex, actually. This is not the general belief, however. But it is an authentic Buddhist interpretation.

* INCREDIBLE - Thanks for sharing ! FREE TIBET !!!!

* I really like Buddhism.. You can see in his eyes peace!

* Om Mani Padme Hum does NOT refer to sexual intercouse. Loosely translated it means-THE JEWEL IS IN THE LOTUS. A gentle reminder that we do not need to search outside for anything. all that we need is inside of us. the jewel is in the lotus!

* Thank you. I cherish my faith. I'm always looking at new ways to be more mindful in my every day life and You tube has many beautiful Tibetan videos.

* The Jewel in the Lotus.

Basicly it's the whole of Buddhism compressed into one Mantra.

* I like his smile at the ending..
Beautiful..Tks. for sharing;-)))

* I am very fortunate to have Drupon-la as one of my Lamas. He is also my Refuge preceptor.
Thank you very much for this.

* om mani padme hum ,om mani padme hum
om mani padme hum ,om mani padme hum
om mani padme hum ,om mani padme hum
om mani padme hum ,om mani padme hum

* Wow! How wonderful that Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche is on YouTube!!! Drupon-la works tirelessly for the benefit of sentient beings and acts as the resident Lama for the Tibetan Meditation Center in Frederick, MD as well as Spiritual Advisor to Ratnashri Sangha of Tampa Bay and Drikung Teksum Choling in Orlando.

OM MANI PEME HUNG

* I find that if I watch this it cheers me up and brings a smile to my face. It helps me to switch gears. So I watch it repeatedly. Thanks again!

* OM MANI PADME HUM...
I learned this chant because i don't have any money for anxiety pills. We can learn a lot from these monks.
Dankon.!

* He seems to have that Buddhists glow. I love a happy face too. Thank you for sharing this. It is short, but sweet.
